Thank you all for keeping the tradition alive of my very first memorable CrossFit workout in Iraq. I love being able to do this every year, rain or shine, sleet or snow. We had a great showing yesterday and I am sore today!

Dexabody Scan and Side Hustle 2023 Quarter 1

I am so excited to have the Dexabody van at our gym on Thursday! For those who don't know what it is, here's what we do each quarter:

1. You sign up from their site to scan: https://cfthepoint.checkAppointments.com

2. You either buy 1 or 2 scans through Dexabody. None of this money goes to the gym. It is paying for their service.

3. You show up and get scanned at your scheduled time and get scanned.

4. (Optional) You sign up for our in house competition for $40. (I will send an email out to everyone who scans to see if you are in on the challenge.)

5. For those who signed up, you will rescan when they come in April to see how you did compared to your competition.

Benefits of the Side Hustle

We take $35 from the $40 and put it into a pot and the participants who have the biggest percentage change in body fat wins the pot! Depending on how many signs up and how everyone performs will determine the number of winners.

A new benefit is that if you sign up for the side hustle, our friends over at Clean Simple Eats are providing their app free of charge for the 3 months of the challenge! Not only that, they are providing their supplements to the winners! Super stoked about this partnership!

The final benefit is it's motivation to help us stay on track. 3 months is a long time and with our eyes on the prize, literally, we tend to stick to our goals and can create habits to make us healthier!

New Year's Resolutions

I love New Year's Resolutions as much as the next person but I have a few tips when making them. I would take a look at making a short term goal(1-2 months), a mid-term goal (3-6 months) and a long term goal (6-12 months). I am also going to be creating a spot on the board this week and I will be having you put 1 goal you truly want to accomplish this year. You will have all week to write it and put your name next to it. Once the week is up, I will take a picture and I will create a laminated version of it and we can all encourage each other to accomplish that one goal. It can be anything so be thinking! When you accomplish the goal, I will put a sticker next to it and maybe if you all participate well, I'll do a drawing for some prizes throughout the year for those who get their sticker.

Tomorrow's Schedule

Since most people are taking tomorrow as a holiday, we will have regular morning hours only tomorrow. Remember that if you are an Unlimited member, you can access the gym during the off-hours tomorrow which will be from 10:30-till Tuesday morning. The rest of the week will be normal hours.

This week's Programming

This week we have some fun workouts. Remember you can always find them in your Chalk it app. If for some reason you don't have access to the Chalk it app, please email me and we will get you in there.

On Tuesday you have the option of retesting your Lactic Tolerance Assessment (FRAN) and we will be doing a Snatch + Clean and Jerk Max on Friday followed by an old CrossFit Open Workout!

I am looking forward to getting this year started off on the right foot so I hope to see you all tomorrow!
