Well wasn't that incredible?! We maxed out on 4 lifts and the board was littered with PRs this week! Seriously! It's no small feat to achieve a personal record in lifting and you all just did it like it was nothing. Whether your PR was for 1.5 pounds or for 50 pounds, I think you all deserve a high five and a pat on the back.
The reason PRs are so important is that it's a gauge of the effort you have put in. Sometimes working out feels like we're beating our heads against the wall but when we finally have that day where we prove that we have improved, that makes it all worth it. So congratulations to everyone who stuck with this past strength cycle, consistently attended and put in the work. I always love what Coach Chad says, even if you didn't PR your weight, I know each and every one of you PR'd your technique and skill. Congrats and onto the next cycle!
2021 CFTP Lockdown
It's that time of year again where you need to start looking for a partner. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what the CFTP Lockdown is, let me explain. The lockdown is an in-house partner competition with 3 tiers. It is run similarly to the CrossFit Open where over the course of 4 weeks a workout will be programmed and each team will complete the workout and be placed on the leaderboard.
We started this competition to take away the fear of competing. This is an amazing first competition for every CrossFitter because you do it within your own gym and at your regularly scheduled class. With 3 tiers, there is 100% a level that you can compete. Whether you've been CrossFitting for 10 years or just joined us during the 3 month promotion, I want you to compete.
Working out should be fun and nothing is more fun than competing along side your buddies. Every single Lockdown we have people who do things they didn't think they could do. We have people hit weights they have never hit and we have them complete movements they never have before. It's super fun so get with your gym buddy and be ready to sign up once we release the details!
'Twas The WOD Before Christmas
Our yearly multi-gym competition that always sells out is coming back for the 7th year in a row! More details to follow but we are planning first Saturday of December! So if after you compete in the Lockdown, you're looking to get into a multi-gym competition out of your very own gym, look no further and plan to sign up with your buddy.
Always look to grow
My final thoughts on my mind this Sunday is that I hope you all are always looking for ways to grow. Whether that is emotionally, physically, spiritually or financially. It's so important for our minds to always strive for something bigger. Life goes by so fast and if we aren't careful it will pass us by without us knowing it. So, try a new sport. Go on that hike you have been putting off. Allow your kids to try that new sport or activity. Set new goals and always strive to be more.
Love you all and I can't wait for this coming week of new things!
