Coach Dan's Sunday Spotlight 1.2.2022

Good morning... So this is how it feels to be sore... Been so long, I forgot!

Community driven Fitness

I have not been as active over the past 4 or so months. Ever since I got my new full time job and was working on all the changes for the new partnership with RxFit, I've allowed myself to get out of the habit. Well that changed as of yesterday. I committed to many of you that I would start January 1 and there is no better way than with the traditional "Snowy Murph"

I went into the workout with intentions of only doing 50-75% of the workout but due to some "encouragement" from my crew, namely Colby and Isaac, I pushed through the workout and finished. Had I done this workout on my own, I know I would have stuck to that 50-75% and called it good. By completing this workout with the gym family that we have created, I had 2x my output. This is a simple example of how community driven fitness is superior to do it on your own fitness. So thank you for the push.

Change is hard

Change is hard but doesn't have to be scary. The past few months has brought a lot of change but in my eyes all the changes that we are making are going to benefit us and our fitness. Tyler, Emily and myself are dedicated to bringing you the best opportunities that we are capable of bringing you in order for you to succeed in accomplishing your goals.
Tyler is driven and it shows in the way he conducts his business. He will do everything he can to make you a fitter human being or die trying. His ambition is contagious. I believe we could not have found a better fit for The Point than what we found with teaming up with RxFit. This is going to open up so many doors and opportunities for us to grow our community and therefore create a more exciting and fun experience as we all strive to become fitter.
With every change and tweak made, it is with the goal of making The Point more sustainable long term and allowing us to bring more benefits to those who are members of The Point. In order for us to continue to provide awesome services, awesome coaches and awesome opportunities, we have to also make sure we are able to be around for the long run and that will be our goal!

Dexabody Quarter 1 Challenge

One of the first opportunities we have to see the community expansion benefit us is through the Dexabody Challenge. We have all 6 gyms on board! Typically in the first quarter we get between 30-40 peeps signing up. That creates a pot of $900-1200! Now imagine what we can do by bringing in 5 more gyms...

So I originally had January 3rd as our scan date and with adding these other gyms we had to push it to the following dates:

Point Fitness - Friday, January 21st, 2022  - 7 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 7 PM

RxFit Holladay - Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 - 8 AM to 2 PM

RxFit Provo - Monday, January 24th, 2022 - 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 7 PM

With that being said... If you are like me, you'd like to get started as soon as possible. So I am allowing any scan between January 3rd and January 24th to be an eligible scan for the upcoming competition!

To participate you must complete the following:
1. Get scanned either at their office or in their van between January 3-January 24
2. Pay $40 to the winners pot ($30 go to the winners; $10 goes to the gym)
3. Eat healthy and consistently hit the gym for best results.
4. Rescan in April.

Winners will be decided by percentage of percentage lost. The bigger the pot, the more winnings there will be.

Testing Weeks

The next two weeks will be testing weeks. Be sure to get into the gym at a minimum Monday Wednesday and Friday to get your baseline figured out for the new programming. If you want to learn more about what we are about to do, you can take a look at this article by Tyler Welch:
Results-Based Programming

As an athlete, I am so excited about this and I hope you are too. Good luck this week and I'll see you at the gym!
