CrossFit Open 2024
The CrossFit Open registration is open! We are going to be doing teams again this year and we will be creating an optional t-shirt order as well. We will release the Open Logo next week.
We will be using the CrossFit Games Leaderboard and encourage you to sign up through the games site. You can sign up here: https://games.crossfit.com
There are many reasons to do this but for me it's the fact that I can go back to my first year and look at my old scores. It's a convenient way to track your games history.
Another reason for us is to make it easy for us to score the top scores as they all will be entered into the same leaderboard.
You can still participate in our team competition either way.
What we have planned:
- First, we will begin with a Draft:
All Athletes will be put on a board and the team captains (the coaches) will select their teams. We will announce the teams after the draft has taken place.
- Scoring Points
Here is how we calculate each team’s points.
+1 Point – Attendance: every member of a team that completes an Open workout at CFTP each week earns one point. Maximum one point per athlete per workout. This goes for Rx AND Scaled competitors!
+1 Point – Top 3: every male AND female member who places among the Top 3 at your gym for each workout scaled or Rx gets an extra point for their team.
+3 Points (Team) – Best Dressed: Weeks 2,3 and 4 will have a ‘theme’ for how to dress up. The athlete that gets voted best dressed earns an extra 3 points for their team!!
Here are some ideas for themed FNL, we will put out a vote on our Facebook group: Disco, 80s fitness, 90s, neon, animal print, favorite sports team, Wild West, luck of the Irish ☘️ (esp if it goes over St. Patrick’s day), CrossFit the Point big family, etc.
+1 Point- Spirit of the Open (individual): The head coach will be watching all the athletes as they participate in the Open workout, both during their workout and before/after. Any athlete that is showing the true spirit of the Open (community, positivity, etc.) will be randomly awarded a bonus point for their team!
+5 Points (team) – Spirit: The team with the most noise, pride, and PRESENCE each week will receive 5 bonus points. We will be announcing “themes” for each week.
While the official Open schedule basically gives you four days to complete your workout, we have a special schedule on Fridays. We urge everyone to try to make it to our Friday Night Lights event, but we do allow anyone to complete the Open workout during one of the regularly scheduled Friday classes.
Give away prizes via random draws each week – think gym gear (T-shirt), supplements and training packages. For the top team for the entire Open, give our GRAND prize, name on the board.
Our focus is on FUN. We want participation because it will make the community fitter, and it brings everyone together in a fun, yet competitive atmosphere.
More details will follow but this is going to be a great event and I can't wait to compete along side you all!
